Breaking Free from the Map Monopoly: My Journey to Open-Source Navigation

I was using Google Maps for a long time, but I didn’t like the idea of sharing my location and other personal data with a big company. I wanted to change that.

I started using Yandex Maps, which is a good alternative. It works well with public transport in Istanbul, where I live. But I was looking for something more. I wanted a map app that is open source, so I can trust it.

I’m still searching for the perfect app. I want to find something that is not controlled by a big company. I want to be sure that my data is safe.
