    \n reported collapse of Enron<\/span><\/a> in 2000 and
    \n the alleged problems within     Arthur Andersen<\/span><\/a> and WorldCom<\/span><\/a>, the duties and responsibilities
    \n of auditors and the boards of directors for public and privately held
    \n corporations were questioned. As a response to this, and to attempt to
    \n prevent similar problems from happening again, the US <\/u>    Sarbanes-Oxley Act<\/span><\/a> was
    \n written to stress the importance of business control and auditing. Although
    \n not directly related to IT governance, Sarbanes-Oxley and Basel-II in Europe
    \n have influenced the development of information technology governance since
    \n the early 2000s.<\/div>\n

    \n accountability for decision-making around the use of IT in the best interest
    \n of all stakeholders<\/div>\n

    \nto achieve your objectives; so you should first know clearly what is your
    \nobjectives.<\/div>\n

    \n<\/span><\/span>Policy (guiding principles of
    \naction) designed to achieve your objectives.<\/div>\n
